Margaret and whistleblower Daniel attempt to uncover evidence of extraterrestrial life, and become entangled in a race to reveal the truth before powerful forces can suppress it. What happens when the whole world finds out that humans are not alone, and how does society respond?

Violence

There is moderate violence which includes scenes of threat, high-speed car chases, gunfire, accidents, a knife threat, and some bloody images. The strongest scenes include:

  • A brief scene where humans experiment on an alien. The focus of the scene is the alien shrieking in pain rather than the actual experimentation.
  • A character cuts their own hand by squeezing a crucifix.
  • A character pokes their own hand with a knife.

Offensive language

Offensive language is occasionally used and words include like “f*ck” and “sh*t”.

Content that may disturb

There is sustained tension and the film has many emotionally unsettling themes, including childhood trauma, recovered memories, and the fear of extraterrestrial encounters.

A character has a brief panic attack when confronted by the rapidly escalating “disclosure” mystery.

There are widespread panic scenes where crowds are reacting with fear and confusion. People run, shout and attempt to evacuate.
